Assistant Conservation Officer – The Barn Owl Trust.

Based at Ashburton in South Devon, the successful applicant will have a keen interest in owls, a good knowledge of farmland birds, good inter-personal and creative writing skills and a full clean driving licence. Initially for a twelve month contract, the post will involve advisory work both in and out of the office, extensive database and website use as well as report writing, fieldwork, woodwork and the erection of heavy nestboxes using ladders. Secondary roles will include educational presentations to juniors and Health and Safety Monitoring. The successful candidate must also be prepared, at times, to man the trust’s Live Owl Emergency Phone 24-7. Training will be provided. Salary £14,729.41.
