Overall purpose of the role

This is a senior campaigning role based within Greenpeace Australia Pacific. The Special Projects Lead is an experienced international campaigner responsible for overseeing the successful operation of cross-cutting global projects. They will provide the strategic direction, management and leadership skills to support and direct the development and implementation of innovative international campaigns and mobilisation strategies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement ambitious, dynamic global campaign strategies in a complex and rapidly changing campaigning landscape
  • Ensure strategies and tactics are aligned with international and organisational goals
  • Develop and implement monitoring and learning systems to ensure projects remains highly responsive.
  • Lead and build a strong global project team across many different countries
  • Manage project staff and contract project staff, acquiring necessary expertise as required
  • Develop an effective project fundraising strategy with Greenpeace offices and liaise with funders as required

 Essential Competencies

  • Intellectual ability to understand dynamic scientific, social and political issues
  • Intellectual ability to understand legal issues necessary for the job and the ability to work out legal strategies to turn confrontational situations to the advantage of the campaign
  • Problem solving skills, and the ability to create clear, simple solutions
  • Demonstrable decision-making skills
  • Minimum three years international campaigning experience
  • Demonstrable international project management skills
  • Demonstrable experience of working across multiple organisational functions, in particular Fundraising, Communications, Mobilisation, Campaigning and Programme delivery

Overall purpose of the role

This is a pivotal role based within the Program Department of Greenpeace Australia Pacific. The Assistant Campaigner is a multi-talented generalist, responsible for assisting in devising, coordinating and delivering campaigns and projects as new opportunities arise and existing initiatives develop. They will provide creativity in planning campaigns and ensure the dynamism, ambition and successful coordination of all aspects of a given campaign project.

The Assistant Campaigner will devise, pitch, and implement exciting campaigns within Greenpeace Australia Pacific. This will include project management, problem analysis, development of project plans, defining solutions, legal assessment, and liaising with stakeholders (internal and external).

About you

We are seeking someone with the intellectual ability to understand dynamic scientific, social and political issues. You will have proven knowledge of the national and international government process and demonstrable ability to work effectively with the media. If you are someone who thrives in Project Management; planning and organising, including the ability to effectively adjust plans to rapidly changing circumstances, this role is just for you!
