HOURS OF WORK: Full Time - 36 hours per week (net)

JOB DETAILS:

Providing curatorial support to one of the Systematics teams of the Herbarium, Library, Art and Archives, you will maintain the accessibility of the collections and provide support for scientific research as part of Kew's Breathing Planet Programme. You will spend a considerable amount of time on herbarium curation i.e. organising and distributing the collections and specimens, maintaining collection indices and other databases. There will also be some scope for you to support systematic team research.

Basic computing skills, including knowledge of word-processing and databases, are essential for this role. You will have obtained four GCSEs, or equivalent, including English, Maths and Biology, and ideally have experience of scientific or museum orientated work, especially curation. You will have an aptitude for problem solving and fact finding analysis and be confident using your own initiative to overcome complex curatorial issues.

Salary is circa £17,729 per annum and benefits include 30 days holiday per year, a choice of pensions, a flexible benefits scheme as well as a great working environment.
