SITA UK is recruiting an Assistant Bid Manager with an interest in environmental sustainability, specifically the recycling and materials recovery industry to join our Commercial team based at Maidenhead in Berkshire. 

About the role

The successful candidate will report to the Head of Public Sector Development and will be responsible for supporting the preparation and submission of public sector tenders.  He/she will work closely with the other members of the bidding team and other operational and commercial functions within the south east region.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Preparing and submitting pre-qualification questionnaires to ensure the bid team have the maximum number of opportunities available to them;
  • Preparing standard answers to bespoke questions in bids to assist the Bid Managers to write method statements;
  • Preparing basic financial models with standard information to assist the Bid Managers to develop commercial solutions;
  • Preparing presentation documents to assist Bid Managers to prepare for project approvals and customer meetings;
  • Identify target customers to assist the Bid Managers to manage the bid pipeline and networking plans;
  • Provide basic market and competitor analysis to help drive business growth.

Qualifications, experience and expectations

Applicants must be able to demonstrate team working skills, a desire to take on a customer facing role and an understanding of commercial relationships, backed up by a good degree in either business or environmental science disciplines. A driving licence is required.

Some knowledge or work experience within a business environment or the recycling and materials recovery industry would be very useful, but is not essential.
