The Role

We are a small, agile team, very friendly and results orientated. A graduate arb joining the team will be collectively mentored and helped to increase their experience across the board. Our methods of working are easy to pick up. You will however need a flexible approach to work, getting involved with reviewing reports, writing memo reports, site visiting to survey or to assess for compliance, contributing in meetings and delivering whatever will be most helpful to the team to keep us responsive. A familiarity with Word and Excel formatting is vital, along with concise reporting skills. We appreciate clear communication and a sense of humour. Temple offers a full graduate programme to support career advancement.

You will be required to have the following:

  • Recognized Arboricultural degree.
  • An understanding of the requirements of BS 5837 even if has limited field experience of BS 5837 survey work.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel.
  • Prepared to support the existing team in data management and report writing.
  • An ability to self direct when appropriate, alongside good teamworking skills.
  • A responsible approach to time management.
  • A pro-active learner, able to self-educate when required but also comfortable taking direction from other members of the team.
  • Willingness to travel and sometimes stay overnight, in order to undertake survey work.
  • A commitment to achieving consultant status as quickly as possible.

Below are the skills that would be desirable:

  • AutoCAD skills (related to the drawing of tree constraints and tree protection plans).
  • An understanding of tree risk assessment approaches.
  • Willing to take the Lantra Professional Tree Inspection course.
