Freedom Food Ltd is the RSPCA’s highly successful farm animal welfare assurance and associated food labelling scheme, operating throughout the UK in conjunction with the retail, manufacturing and primary production sectors. The post holder will be required to predominantly undertake pig and poultry assessments within the South East, with an occasional requirement to travel to other parts of the UK.
Reporting directly to the Field Assessment Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for arranging and undertaking field assessments of farms, hauliers and abattoirs for both new and existing scheme members, to verify compliance with the Society’s welfare standards for farmed animals.
Essential requirements for this post are GCSE Maths and English or equivalent, combined with proven practical experience of commercial farm livestock production at management level and knowledge of the food production industry. Candidates must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to farm animal welfare. Direct experience of farm assurance schemes and auditing skills is desirable and ideally applicants should hold a minimum qualification of NVQ level 3 in agriculture or equivalent.
