Office Location: Asia Regional Office in Singapore

BirdLife International is a partnership of national conservation organisations present in 120 countries and territories. Together we are the world leader in bird conservation. BirdLife’s unique local-to-global approach enables us to deliver high impact and long term conservation for the benefit of nature and people.

 We are looking for someone who can co-ordinate and lead our policy and advocacy work on the Asian flyways thereby contributing to the Global Flyway Programme of BirdLife International.

In doing so, the job holder will:

-          Coordinate and support the involvement of the BirdLife network in the East Asian Australasian Flyway partnership and other flyway related international agreements;

-          Coordinate and support the flyway policy development and advocacy work of the BirdLife Asia partnership along the East Asia Australasian Flyway and Central Asian Flyway

-          Develop and oversee a programme of work as part of the Darwin initiative project – saving the critically endangered spoon-billed sandpiper from global extinction

-          Working with the Regional Director and Programme Development unit/staff to develop a fundraising strategy for the programme including developing project proposals, identifying and approaching funding sources and reporting to donors;

-          Liaise with colleagues in the Asia Division, other regional divisions (Americas, Europe, Middle East and Africa) and the BirdLife Secretariat in Cambridge (UK) to ensure the work in Aisa is part of a coherent global programme for migratory birds
