The duties of this position will include: performing asbestos building inspections, supervision of asbestos abatement contractors, collection of asbestos air samples, and the onsite analysis of asbestos air sample cassettes. Additional job functions may include performing general industrial hygiene and environmental field work (air/soil/water sampling, oversight of subcontractors, and health and safety monitoring activities) and assisting in the preparation of technical reports (Phase I and II ESAs, quarterly regulatory reports, and PADEP Act 2 closure reports). 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Asbestos building inspections
  • Supervision of asbestos abatement contractors
  • Collection of asbestos air samples
  • Onsite analysis of asbestos air sample cassettes
  • General industrial hygiene studies
  • Air/soil/water sampling
  • Oversight of remedial subcontractors
  • Health and safety monitoring activities
  • Assisting in the preparation of technical reports (Phase I and II ESAs)
  • PADEP Act 2 closure reports
 REQUIRED SKILLS
  • B.S. in environmental science or related health and safety degree
  • Pennsylvania certifications to perform asbestos building inspections and supervise asbestos workers
  • Completion of a NIOSH 582 Equivalency Course
  • Proficient at performing NIOSH Method 7400 analysis by phase contrast microscopy
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to interface with both in-house personnel and clients
 DESIRED SKILLS
  • Knowledge of PADEP Land Recycling Program (Act 2)
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training
