MAIN TASKS 1. Designated Sites. To contribute to the positive management of the 11 Natura sites and 50 SSSIs in North & South Lanarkshire by working on:
• Site Condition Monitoring; • Nature Conservation Act review of site documents; • Natural Care agreements; • Rural Development Contracts. 2. Casework. To advise on the natural heritage impacts of development proposals by working on: • Environmental Impact Assessments; • Planning consultations; • Renewable energy consultations; • Agriculture and forestry consultations; • European Protected Species consultations. 3. Grants. To contribute to the assessment and management of grants for natural heritage projects across Lanarkshire. 4. Partnerships. To represent SNH on partnerships with agencies, local authorities, NGOs and community groups. 5. Unit management. To contribute to the planning and management of SNH’s work in Strathclyde & Ayrshire by following our corporate systems and standards. 6. Personal Development. To identify personal and career development needs and undertake the necessary training. |
