Key Responsibilities: . Manage the relationship with the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park Authority (LLTNPA) • Provide briefing as required to SNH & LLTTNPA Management Teams & Boards. • Act as the main point of contact between SNH and LLTNPA and work with other organisations with an interest in LLTNP. • Monitor SNH activity in the Park against corporate priorities and SNH’s agreed contribution to delivering the National Park Plan • Coordinate delivery of joint/ shared services and more efficient working arrangements, e.g. training opportunities • Provide updates to relevant SNH and Park Authority staff on internal SNH policy development and update LLTNPA on relevant new staff guidance e.g. renewables guidance, • Coordinate business planning between SNH and the Park Authority to align work programmes. • Contribute to strategic policy development with the Park Authority (e.g. Local Plan, Land Use Framework) • Jointly develop and manage research on natural heritage issues in the Park.
2. Work with Partners in the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park • Contribute to strategic partnerships within the Park, e.g. a. Biodiversity Partnership b. Access Forum c. Land Use Initiatives Group d. Partnerships Forum e. Landscape Partnerships • Contribute to joint delivery of projects within the Park, e.g. a. Trossachs 2010 b. Visitor Payback Scheme c. The Great Trossachs Forest Project d. Ironworks e. Integrated Habitat Network Modelling
3. Coordinate SNH activities within the Park • Manage research contracts on natural heritage issues in the Park • Lead the preparation of consultation responses on strategic plans and policies in the Park, e.g. renewable energy Supplementary Planning Guidance and Land Use Framework • Coordinate involvement of other SNH staff (e.g. Policy and Advice & Strategy and Communications) in the LLTNP, including using the Business Planning system to ‘bid for’ the work needed by other SNH Management Units (e.g. Policy and Advice) to deliver SNH’s agreed contribution to the National Park Plan. • Collate and disseminate relevant information about the National Park to, and from, appropriate SNH staff and Board members. • Assess, award and monitor SNH grants in the National Park • Monitor SRDP activity within the Park
4. Liaise with Cairngorms National Park Coordination Officer and Operations Manager • Identify opportunities for efficiencies and closer alignment • Coordinate joint research with both Parks • Develop pilot/ demonstration projects with both Parks
5. Support Argyll and Stirling Area team as required
