Area Manager x 4

Natural England is seeking four Area Team Managers.

Our Area Managers will be asked to lead and inspire a new way of working with local partners guided by three principles: we do not always need to lead, we will look for partnerships beyond our traditional stakeholders, and partnership means that not all parties can always secure all their goals. They will always look to find the “best owned” rather than the perfect solution to the key issues in their area. This step change in local partnership working will mean we need to consider how we redraw the boundaries between what we and our local partners do – and to work always for shared agendas and consensus.

Whilst our Area Teams will have as much freedom as possible to develop creative solutions relevant to local circumstances to deliver our local work, Area Managers will do this with the success of the whole organisation in mind. They will work within a robust framework of nationally agreed standards and ways of working; deliver their contribution to our major corporate priorities; and role model a spirit of co-operation with other teams.

The area boundaries and office locations for these Area Manager roles are as follows:

• Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire (offices in Crewe and Manchester)

• Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex (offices in Cambridge and Peterborough)

• Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey & London (offices in Wallingford and London)

• Warwickshire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire, Gloucestershire (office in Worcester)
