The Role
We now have a vacancy in the Environment Group for a motivated individual to work on long term vegetation management contracts in the utility sector undertaking audits of contractors who will have already completed tree and vegetation surveys and sought landowner permissions. The role also includes carrying out quality audits on completed cut vegetation. The post holder should be based within the South East of England and may either work out of our Abingdon office (Milton Park) or can be home based depending on location. This is a 6 month fixed term post, which may be extended in line with project renewal. Technical Skills
Arboricultural Surveyor The successful candidates will have the following technical experience and qualifications (or equivalent):
ND / HND or equivalent in Arboriculture or Forestry
At least 1 year’s relevant practical experience in linear vegetation surveys
Knowledge and experience of tree surveying techniques and risk/ hazard assessment methodologies
Knowledge and experience of forestry, arboricultural and land management work practices
Experience and knowledge of audits, gaining consents, preparing clear work specifications and risk assessments for contractors, for individual or small groups of trees
Ability to communicate effectively, with a wide range of landowners and other stakeholders, to discuss permissions required for essential vegetation management work
Numerate and proficient with MS Word and MS Excel and a broad understanding of GIS systems and hand held data capture
