ADAS has an exciting and diverse portfolio of environmental impact assessment, land and vegetation management contracts throughout the UK.  We are now looking for talented and enthusiastic arboricultural consultants to join us in this growing area of our business.

ADAS is the UK’s largest independent provider of environmental consultancy, rural development services and policy advice. The Company has more than 700 environmental and rural development specialists, operating from a network of offices and research sites throughout the UK.

The Role

You will be expected to deliver and help develop a wide range of arboricultural services to major stakeholders, developers, local and central government and private landowners. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to business development as well as being a good field surveyor and report writer. The type of work will include:

  • Visual Tree Inspections, health surveys, hazard and risk assessments;
  • Surveys and reports in accordance with BS 5837 (2005);
  • Planning advice & tree legislation issues, such as Tree Preservation Orders;
  • Research.

You will be trained to at least National Diploma level in Arboriculture or Forestry or equivalent and have a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within the arboricultural industry, surveying and reporting on tree related matters.

It is also desirable that you hold Lantra’s Professional Tree Inspection certificate, Network Rail PTS or IWA, and are a professional member of a relevant industry organisation.

Knowledge of tree hazard diagnosis, the planning system and legal framework for trees is essential and knowledge of CAD, GIS and/or GPS an advantage. You should have a proven track record of writing tree survey reports to BS5837 and producing management plans for trees and woodlands.

One post is office-based at our Milton Park office in Oxfordshire with another office based at Cambridge, other locations may be possible.
