Working within a technical team, the Aquaculture and Marine Conservation Manager builds strategic relationships to identify opportunities to improve responsible aquaculture and marine conservation in southern Australia, with a focus on Tasmania.  The role manages policy analysis, and undertakes advocacy and communications that engage with WWF audiences and mobilise support for environmental conservation.

Skills, knowledge and experience

  •  Knowledge of and experience with aquaculture and marine conservation.
  • Experience in advocating for and achieving responsible aquaculture and/or marine conservation outcomes.

  • Experience in research, analysis, development and reform of aquaculture/marine conservation policy and/or legislation.

  • Ability to develop influential networks.

  • Problem solving, conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, media and public speaking communication skills.

  • Ability to work autonomously, and contribute to a high performance team.

An existing network with stakeholders across government, industry, academia, markets and conservation organisations is desirable.
