Description

Forest Enterprise Scotland (FES) have been running a Modern Apprenticeship Scheme since 2004, and now as part of a wider Skills Programme, aims to provide new entrants to the forest industry with a broad foundation of knowledge and experience in order to gain employment within the sector. The Modern Apprenticeship Scheme seeks to deliver a range of industry recognised formal training as well as an opportunity to consolidate training and knowledge within forest district work teams, where apprentices can gain both experience and informal learning from a range of experienced staff. Forest Enterprise Scotland and its Forest Districts offer a range of forest and land-based industry opportunities and experiences and apprentices will have the opportunity to develop a working knowledge of both land-based and environmental issues as well as developing key employment skills.

In line with legal, Governmental and organisational policy, FES are committed to promoting equality and diversity throughout the organisation and its workforce. As such the FES Modern Apprenticeship Scheme welcomes a diverse range of applicants. Please note that the FES MA Scheme is open to all applicants aged 16 or over, and there is no minimum qualification level required.

The FES Skills Programme seeks to integrate apprentices within all our Forest Districts in Scotland, and in doing so applications are invited for positions in Scottish Lowlands FD (based in West Calder); Tay FD (based in Dunkeld); and Cowal & Trossachs FD (based in either Aberfoyle or Glenbranter [near Dunoon])
