Description

Applications are invited from suitable and qualified candidates for the position of BSP Coordinator within Kruger National Park, and will be stationed at Phalaborwa Offices. The Successful candidate will be reporting directly to the BSP Implementation Managers and indirectly to the Senior Manager: Conservation Management.

Requirements:

  • A Master’s Degree in either Conservation or Project Management field
  • Minimum 8-10 years relevant operational experience in EPWP Projects (invasive alien clearing projects rehabilitation projects, contract management, community development projects.)
  • 5 years project management experience. 
  • Financial management (budgets exceeding 5 million ZAR) experience.
  • Knowledge of the Public Financial Management Act.
  • To have a working knowledge of relevant Environmental legislation such as the, CARA, NEMA, NEMPA, and National Water Act
  • Be fully computer literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office software packages such as Word, Excel, Access and Power Point;
  • Be in possession of a valid code EC (old code 8) drivers’ licence 
  • Excellent communications skills, both written (papers or articles) and verbal (conferences)  
  • Management and Leadership Skills
  • Be able to prepare well-presented management, motivational and operational reports.
  • Working knowledge and experience of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and COIDA.

Responsibilities:

Key performance areas would include the following: 

  • Planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all BSP projects within KNP.
  • Manage human resources, training, mentoring and social activities within the projects.
  • Manage administration, finance and procurement required.
  • Auditing (financial and ecological) and technical advice for all projects in the cluster.
  • Management of human and logistical resources.
  • Reporting to Senior Manager: Conservation Management and BSP Implementation Managers. 
  • Communicate and liaise with all internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Community development and capacity building linked to training centre management.
  • Monitoring of all project deliverables according to APOs, business plans and KPA’s.
  • Analysing and compiling of progress reports.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of projects and deliverables

Salary:

Total Cost to Company package is: R512, 681.53 per annum (Negotiable). The amount include housing allowance.
