Role Description
• Teaching – 70%
o Interact with Guests by creating Magical Moments, deliver formal presentations and provide one-on-one interactions through discovery carts and props. o Teach our activity-based school programs: Ocean Discoveries (grades 3-9) and Making Waves with a Marine Career (grades 7-12). Program/Project Development – 30%
o Participate in the development of educational materials and programming. o Assist researchers conducting dolphin research. Required Qualifications
You must meet the required qualifications in order to apply for the internship. • Junior, senior or recent college graduate • Biology, Marine/Environmental Sciences, Education or related major • Minimum Grade Point Average of 2.0 • Experience working with the public in a formal or informal learning setting • Public speaking experience • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel • SCUBA certification is required at the time of application. Applicants must currently have a SCUBA certification card when applying for the internship. We cannot accept applicants that are currently in SCUBA class or are planning on completing it after application submission. |
