Role Description Primary responsibilities for each role include assisting in the development and presentation of interpretive Guest experiences that inspire wildlife conservation action. The Professional Interns work closely with the Education Curators and/or Managers to develop inspirational and interpretive experiences, research and compile information to assist in education programming and assist with specified projects as assigned.* * This Professional Internship does not include any direct animal contact as part of the regular duties. All daily animal husbandry and care is provided by our Animal Keeper Staff. Disney’s Animal Programs Group Education This Group Education Professional Intern will gain experience in teaching structured group programs for adults as well as students in grades 2-12 and assist with curriculum development and with program coordination. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Teaching – 45% o Teach programs designed for a national audience of adults, as well as programs designed for groups of students from around the country, grades 2-12. • Projects/Program Development - 45% o Research program information. o Assist with program revisions and updates. o Work on projects as directed by leadership team. This includes Internet research, documentation of new information and resource searches. • Supervision/Program Coordination – 10% o Set up program materials for both student and adult programs. o Communicate with program partners. o Maintain an inventory of supplies. o Attend meetings concerning Disney’s Animal Programs/Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Youth Education Series and parks as needed. o Assist with training, as needed.
