The Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), the nation’s largest animal advocacy organization, is seeking a SEASONAL Animal Care Technician I for its South Florida Wildlife Center. The main responsibility of this position is to provide overall daily care to resident animals and maintain habitats, interior and exterior, at the center. Other duties include, but are not limited to: prepare food/diets, feed and water to animals throughout workday; clean assigned enclosures both interior and exterior; monitor assigned animals for any medical or behavioral problems; carry out medical treatments or assist in medical treatments per supervisors or clinic staff; capture/move/transfer animals within the facility as directed; stock supplies; maintain cleanliness of habitats and provide animals with adequate diet and fresh water throughout the day. A High School diploma or equivalent desired. No prior experience necessary. Commitment to the goals and programs of the HSUS along with the highest quality animal care skills highly desired. Must have the ability to follow written directions and record observations; communicate with other staff members and supervisors; identify changes in animal behavior or medical status.
