The Ministry of Fisheries has exciting opportunities for experienced analysts/senior analysts to play a key role in managing, protecting and enhancing the value of one of New Zealand’s most important natural resources.
The Inshore Fisheries Management Team is seeking three experienced Analysts/Senior Analysts to join its teams in Auckland, Wellington, and Dunedin. These are challenging roles designing effective and efficient management approaches to ensure the sustainable and efficient use of New Zealand’s inshore and freshwater fisheries.
You'll work with diverse stakeholders across a full range of inshore fishery and aquatic environment issues, monitor and report on performance, and provide advice to Ministers and senior managers on management strategies and interventions.
We are looking for experienced analysts with skills, knowledge, experience, and relevant tertiary qualifications in areas such as:
- Economics
- Operational policy analysis
- Natural resource management
- Geography
- Marine science
It is critical that you have a positive approach to your work and an innovative approach to solving complex problems. You will also need exceptional communication skills and a high level of confidence presenting to, and facilitating, diverse stakeholder groups.
