Analysts
Environmental Reporting

Vacancy 1548
Closing Date:  11.00 pm Sunday 20 July 2014

We are currently seeking to fill two full-time positions in our Wellington office.

Are you ready for an exciting opportunity to take on New Zealand's Environmental Reporting?

We can offer you an opportunity to join a team that values talent and supports continued learning and development.  You will join an engaged and supportive team and be given opportunities to develop skills, knowledge and experience in the analysis and communication of environmental information.

This is an opportunity to work in a Ministry that plays a key role in shaping the way New Zealand manages its natural resources.  The team is working to change the way we do environmental reporting, so you will be in amongst the decisions about how we report, the debates about what it means to provide independent reporting for a range of audiences, and how that independent, validated information can be presented in the most effective way.  You will work closely with other teams within the Ministry and across the Natural Resource Sector to develop and implement environmental reporting policy.

We are looking for analysts who can understand and synthesise complex environmental information.  People who can support a team of highly capable people to write reports for the public as well as documents for Ministers.  A background in natural sciences will be a definite advantage in these roles.

Do the following statements describe you?

• up for a challenge

• keen to engage in debate and challenge

• able to work on five different projects in a day without getting flustered.

If so, you will be able to demonstrate your ability to:

• work to tight timelines

• manage relationships across the Ministry, within the team and with outside agencies

• communicate well under time pressures and with a range of audiences

• plan projects with the support of other team members

• rely on your experience to deliver to a high standard

• deal with ambiguity.
