Role Description

Reporting to a Project Manager in the Project Origination Department, the Analyst will conduct thorough and accurate technical and financial analyses that support potential offset projects and through this, ensure that Offsetters remains an industry leader with high quality and effective offset projects.

The Analyst will also be responsible for administrative and other support tasks related to sourcing new projects, researching innovative offset options and will be mentored by their Project Manager.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Communicating with internal and external project partners to develop a detailed understanding of the technical and financial elements of the project.
  • Gathering and organizing information from project partners and other stakeholders.
  • Conducting technical analyses and evaluations in a variety of contexts relating to renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.
  • Conducting financial analyses and evaluations pertaining to project costs, risks, and uncertainties.
  • Writing, editing, filing and managing project documents and reports.
  • Monitoring project activities and identifying any need for action.
  • Supporting the continuous development of analytical models and tools for project origination, ensuring a consistent approach and level of rigour in all offset projects.
  • Reading and sharing news on carbon policy and practices in B.C. and around the world.
  • Supporting the Project Manager in managing relationships with project partners, technology providers, regulatory agencies, and others.
  • Supporting other team members in other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • University degree or technical diploma in Engineering or Science.
  • Minimum two years of technical and/or analytical work experience.
  • Demonstrated interest and understanding of environmental sciences.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high growth, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Proven experience working on a variety of projects, managing budgets and schedules.
  • Ability to both see the big picture and execute the details.
  • Demonstrated success working as a key member of a project team.
  • Strong skills and experience working with Excel
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
