Climate Policy Initiative (CPI) is an international analysis and advisory organization that examines the effectiveness of energy and climate policies around the globe. Our mission is to help nations achieve low-carbon development by evaluating their efforts to promote the new energy and land use economy. The questions we tackle are among the most important in the world. In seeking to deliver practical answers to these questions, we work with government leaders, the private sector, and academia.
 
POSITION SUMMARY
CPI is looking for a talented, highly skilled, and motivated individual to provide support for the implementation of green growth plans as part of its Indonesia work program.  This is a unique opportunity for someone with drive and adaptability to help develop the foundation and approach of CPI’s work in Indonesia.
 
The position will support the implementation of the provincial low carbon growth plan for Central Kalimantan, Indonesia.  The Analyst will help design and manage complex assignments and provide advice to policymakers, working with a coalition of partners in Central Kalimantan as well as other members of the CPI Indonesia team and CPI offices worldwide.
 
The work will involve analysis, convening, and coordination of a complicated stakeholder environment.  Previous experience with climate policy, multi-stakeholder consultation processes, conflict negotiation and dispute resolution would be valuable, as would knowledge and understanding of Indonesian regulatory institutions and/or multilateral or bilateral financial institutions and national/or regional development banks.
 
This position reports to the Associate Director, Indonesia.
 
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Articulate and represent the CPI vision and mission to key internal and external audiences.
 
Help develop, maintain, and coordinate relationships with external organizations.
Manage interactions with external entities including provincial government, civil society; private enterprise, research institutions, media and potential additional partners;
Maintain and facilitate networks of associated organizations in government, industry, foundations, and civil society to ensure the quality of work products and strategic direction.
 
Perform rigorous analysis of policies and practices for improved resource management.
Design, manage, and deliver complex assignments tied to relevant policy-maker decision needs and time-frames;
Lead the drafting and editing of written CPI materials.
 
Maintain strong relationships and open communication with headquarters & regional offices.
Work closely with the Indonesia Associate Director to develop and deliver the work program;
Facilitate knowledge-sharing among regional offices on work program development & outcomes.
