The business area

The Business Area Energy Systems and Markets is involved with integrating renewable energy in power systems and power markets. The focus of the Business Area is on making optimal choices in the overall energy system to  facilitate a sustainable, reliable, affordable and financially viable energy supply. Our clients are most importantly transmission and distribution system operators and energy companies. Innovative renewable energy concepts and power system components play an important role.

The vacancy

As an Analyst at Ecofys you will work in teams with talented colleagues who will help you develop and challenge you to on complex projects. You’ll be responsible for specific parts of a project, such as analysing power systems, modelling & scenario building, writing reports, building suitable technical framework conditions for system transformation, interviewing clients and presenting your findings to the team.

We are looking for Analysts for our offices in Utrecht and Berlin. There is always the opportunity to switch between offices if you want to live abroad for a period of time.

Your profile

If you are enthusiastic about the job described above and if you match the following criteria then we would be happy to meet you! 

• You have a University degree qualified with outstanding academic results in natural sciences, engineering, business administration and/or a sustainability related degree. A focus in energy  systems, renewables and/or energy markets is preferred;
• You preferably have 1-2 years professional experience in the field of energy analysis, consulting, or with energy companies;
• You are a self-starter who proactively goes out to meet new people, find information, who likes to manage projects and solve puzzles alone and in teams;
• You have proven extracurricular activities and/or international experience;
• You are a problem solver, and are able to put yourself in others’ shoes;
• You are strong in communication, cooperation and have networking skills and the ability to lead;
• You have strong analytical and computer skills;
• You have excellent English language skills and are able to work in English; fluent Dutch and/or fluent German is also a requirement for the position;
• You have the ambition to become an outstanding energy professional;
• You share our passion for sustainable energy.
