Following the publication of the excellent new field guide by Sterling, Parsons and Lewington, interest in micro moths is on the increase. But many species are not easy to see in a moth-trap. Instead, why not try your skills at field-craft to detect moth species in a different way by looking for leaf-mines on trees and other plants?
This new course is for anyone who would like to give searching for leaf mines a try, who would now like expert help with their identification. It is aimed at total beginners wishing to study leaf-mining moths, as well as people with more advanced knowledge of the group, but whatever your skill level it will be designed to stretch you.
Though not the main part of the course, moth-traps will also be run in the grounds to show other interesting moth species from this exciting site.
