The Regional AIS Crew Member will travel throughout the eastern Great Lakes Basin in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and New York conducting aquatic invasive species surveys at boat launches on high priority waterbodies. Successful candidates will serve in an early detection/rapid response field capacity, and will inventory and map the presence of aquatic invasive plant species at boat launches throughout the project area.  In addition, Crew Members will constructively interact with recreational water resource users and educate them on ways in which they can prevent the spread of AIS.

These positions require extensive overnight travel (up to 10 weeks of consecutive travel). Vehicles will be provided.  Lodging and meals will be covered through a daily travel per diem.  Four of the six available positions will travel as a team covering water bodies in eastern Ohio, and Northwestern Pennsylvania.  A team of two will primarily conduct monitoring activities within NY.
