Description

Chemo?nics seeks technical specialists for the anticipated three- to five-year USAID-funded Enabling Environment for Agriculture Program in Uganda. This feed the future program will partner with Ugandan private and public institutions to improve the enabling environment for agricultural development, trade, and adaptation to climate change. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Technical? specialists are sought in the following areas:?
  • Senior agricultural specialist: Comprehensive understanding of agricultural development with experience strengthening public and private sector agricultural institutions to improve the sector's enabling environment required
  • Senior climate change specialist: Thorough understanding of climate change science and adaptation with experience in public sector institutional strengthening for climate change and its related effects on agriculture required 
  • Senior trade and policy specialist: Proven track record implementing agricultural trade and agriculture enabling environment activities with international experience in trade facilitation and agriculture policy reform required
  • Capacity building expert: Experience in designing and implementing capacity building activities to strengthen private sector and civil society institutions required 
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a relevant field required
  • Minimum eight years of relevant experience
  • Ugandan experience highly preferred 
  • Demonstrated high-level technical, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skill
  • Ability to work independently and on a team and with local counterparts and institutions
  • Proven track record of achieving results in similar types of activities
  • Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity??
  • Fluency in English ?required
