The recruitment of an Affinity Sales Executive is to support the achievement of electricity and gas sales from Events and Affinity Groups on an all Ireland basis.   This is a ‘hands-on’ role, working with sales companies and their event teams, direct sales teams and Marketing, external suppliers and customers, whilst at all times researching markets to identify opportunities for events.

Nature and Scope of Role:

In conjunction with the Domestic Sales Manager, the nature and scope of the role is to implement a sales / retention strategy and plan for the sale of electricity and gas to the domestic sector on an all Ireland basis through affinity groups and events

Sales Strategy:

  • Coordinate existing events, book and manage new events from conception through to completion, producing detailed proposals regarding timelines, venues, suppliers, staffing and budgets (whilst ensuring legal, health, safety and insurance obligations are adhered to). Events may include exhibitions, markets and fairs, festivals, supermarket and in-store promotions
  • Liaise with external suppliers in the staging of events as appropriate, co-ordinating logistics and planning as prescribed for large scale community events
  • Support “Door to Door” Sales Companies who book and resource events, promoting and facilitating sales in conjunction with the highest standards of safety and customer service at all events. Ensure all event communications are distributed timely and accurately to all constituent groups.  Manage distribution of collateral , ensuring all promotional material is current and fit for purpose
  • Set up, coordinate and manage Affinity Groups.  Establish where and how people come together and, through affinity promotions, infiltrate the community at every level
  • Work closely with the Affinity and Event Sales Manager, Business Development Managers, the Call Centre and Marketing to cross-sell into business, staging in-company days to switch employees
  • Attend evening and / or weekend meetings / events as needed to maximise success of event
  • Be responsible for all invoicing processes and procedures
  • Generate weekly and monthly reports on event and affinity sales, highlighting trends and cost to acquire
  • Any other tasks allocated

Skills and Experience

  • Basic level of Excel and Microsoft Word required
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with excellent organisational skills, and attention to detail
  • Be able to establish productive working relationships with people at all levels
  • Have a ‘hands-on’ approach and be willing to manage all in-store activities and events.  Be enthusiastic, self-motivating and outgoing.  Work well under pressure, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of events
  • Have a positive and adaptable approach to problem solving
  • Be able to gather and interpret information for business research
  • Be innovative and creative – to generate sales whilst distinguishing our event form the competition
  • Ability to work independently, delivering against assigned targets
  • Be commercially aware and customer-focussed
  • Some 5 years business experience
  • Full clean driving license essential
