? The Role

This is a central support role working within, and helping to develop and advance, the Business Development (BD) & Sales team. It is primarily an internally facing role involving business administration, bid (and bid process) coordination, bid/tender delivery, team and external partner engagement.

Through the administration of sales opportunities, the co-ordination of bids and the management of tenders for submission to Temple clients, the focus of the role is help to drive new and repeat business by engaging and working with Temple’s internal technical and functional teams.

The role includes responsibility for administering, maintaining, implementing, and improving Temple’s Sales & BD processes and systems. This includes reporting to the Board on: the opportunity and bid pipeline; sales and BD activity; and sales performance vs forecast.

Main Areas of Responsibility / Performance

  • co-ordination of the bid/tender process from beginning to end.
  • helping technical teams to plan bid activities and resources.
  • seeking, circulating, tracking and ensuring responses to opportunities by monitoring inboxes and portals and engaging with the business.
  • supporting bid leads on key / strategic bids, and contributing to other bids, proposals, and fee submission as appropriate including planning, assistance, review and critique.
  • working with bid/team leads to ensure that governance around the bid and business development is maintained and bid timescales are met.
  • developing and maintaining the necessary BD & Sales documents in the Temple document management system.
  • maintenance of relevant tender portals, memberships and subscriptions including procurement accreditations.
  • providing initial induction and training on Temple’s opportunity pursuit and bid process.
  • working closely with the BD & Sales team, as well as marketing.

Contracted Working Hours - 40 hours per week. Consideration may be given to part-time working (min 32 hours per week)

Specific Training – the training required to complete this role will be given. A personal Training and Development Plan will be set in line with company objectives upon joining the Company.

Qualifications Educational/Professional

Essential

  • ?Good relevant experience and/or relevant qualifications.

Desirable

  • Degree-educated in a relevant discipline
  • ?Membership of a relevant professional institution

Essential

  • Highly effective administrator and organiser.
  • Excellent numerical skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and spoken), interpersonal and people engagement skills.
  • Able to manage complex, multi workstream opportunities, often in parallel or conflicting timescales and deadlines.
  • Highly proactive, proficient at developing internal relationships and understanding client/partner requirements.
  • Have the ability to prioritise tasks.

?Desirable

  • Experience in delivering and managing bids in the infrastructure, property and corporate sectors.
  • Excellent design and graphic skills.
  • Comfortable working alongside Environment, Planning & Sustainability specialists.
  • Capable of delivering winning bids for consultancy services projects and frameworks.
  • Experience in bringing valuable input to bid win strategies and commercial discussions.
