Description

Delivered by Natural England, The Soils for Profit Project (S4P) works with farmers in the South West, helping them improve their soil, manure and nutrient management. We’re looking to fill two Lead Advisor roles; one working mainly in Cornwall and sometimes Devon, and one working mainly in Wiltshire.

This project, which runs until 31 December 2013, work with farmers in the South West Region to help them manage their resources including soils, manures and nutrients in a more efficient way, thereby enabling them to develop their businesses economically whilst also benefiting the environment.

The focus for S4P is the efficient use of manures, fertilizers, soils etc, especially focussing on farmers in Nitrate Vulnerable Zones and “failing water body” areas under the Water Framework Directive.

To succeed you’ll need a good knowledge of agriculture, including soil, manure and nutrient management, plus other relevant schemes and projects. You will also have the ability to communicate easily with farmers.
