Are you passionate about solar energy? Do you want to grow with one of Colorado's premier solar installation companies? We are looking for a Solar Installer to work on solar construction projects, usually working on the roof, transferring from one task to another where demands require a worker with varied construction experience and the ability to work without close supervision by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must complete 600kW/DC or 24 months
  • Complete the Solar Living Institute PV 200 PV Design and Installation class
  • Complete the Solar Living Institute NABCEP Entry Level Test
  • Complete the Solar Living Institute PV 300 Advanced Photovoltaic’s class
  • Must have installed 10 microinverter systems as a lead and 5 central inverters
  • Assist the Lead Installer with quality solar PV installations in the following areas: Roof penetrations, assembling, racking, panel attachment, grounding, homeruns, wire combiner box and performing voltage testing
  • Read plans, make calculations and lay out components by measuring distances, snapping/pulling lines
  • Cut, bolt, screw, weld and attach solar components and structures
  • Use drills, reciprocal saw, chop saw, level, square, tape measure, ladders, sledge hammer...
  • Work with wood, steel, concrete, and aluminum
  • Cut roof membrane and install flashing
  • Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices
  • Run conduit, copper pipe, flex and pull wire
  • Mount pipe hangers, cut and attach insulating material
  • Ensure all necessary materials and tools arrive to the job site
  • Assist with overall crew and job site safety
  • Assist with staging materials and tools and load trucks
  • Assist with general ground support
  • Assist with general site preparation and clean up
  • Participate in regular safety trainings
  • Assist with completion of installation reports and paperwork
  • Maintain tool management standards

Essential Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driving license, insurable by good driving record and have your own reliable transportation
  • Good mathematical aptitude and accuracy
  • Communicates effectively, both written and verbal in English
  • Must own your own tools
  • Ability to work/complete/integrate multiple tasks. Can learn skills associated with tool use for a wide array of home improvement measures
  • Good decision-making ability

Physical Demands:

  • Employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • Employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms while performing the duties of this job
  • Employee is frequently required to stand, climb, or balance, and stop, kneel, crouch or crawl
  • Employee is required to use hand and power tools safely and effectively

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to work in high, precarious places; outdoor weather conditions and risk of electrical shock.
