Description

The Asia Centre of the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) seeks an early career researcher to work as Research Assistant.

We are specifically seeking an early career researcher in wide range of topics fitting one or more of the following research area at SEI Asia: climate change mitigation and adaptation, disaster reduction, gender and development, water resource management, agriculture & livestock, and other relevant areas. Therefore, the expected applicants for this Research Assistant position can either have biophysical or social background.

The Research Assistant works within ongoing projects, with close guidance from supervising colleagues. It is anticipated that the selected candidate will assume increased responsibility over time, advancing to the Associate level. They will typically be promoted after acquiring the necessary technical skills, project experience and expertise.

Essential Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with a year of relevant experience (work or internship), or a Master’s degree with no relevant work experience.
  • Working knowledge and familiarity with research methodology.
  • Knowledge of sustainable development issues in the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Excellent English language skills (speaking and writing).

 

Desirable Criteria

  • Have exposure or working experience in a research work during the study programme or professional experience.
  • Proficiency of at least one of Asian languages.
