Chemonics seeks a specialist in global climate change economics for an anticipated USAID-funded global climate change project based in Washington, D.C. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world. The project will provide scientific and policy research support and technical assistance on global climate change adaptation strategies, with a focus on water issues and management. The project will also assess vulnerability to climate change, provide suggestions on how to reduce risk, and help implement these strategies in collaboration with the USAID office in Washington and missions worldwide. Responsibilities include:
Assess the economic impact of global climate change economic policies
Design improved policies that enhance adaptation
Assess alternative global climate change financing schemes
Qualifications:
Master's or doctoral degree in a relevant field
Minimum five years of relevant international work experience with progressively more responsibility
Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and versatility
Experience leading or supervising multidisciplinary teams and/or projects desirable
