Biodiversity Course Administrator

Base negotiable – Home working is an option

Up to £22,948* per annum plus benefits

(* with effect from 01 January 2023)

37.5 hours per week / Fixed Term to December 2023.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Field Studies Council, one of the UK’s leading providers of outdoor environmental education. Field Studies Council is a pioneering environmental education charity committed to enabling people discover, explore, understand, and be inspired by the world around us. Established in 1943, our network of Learning Locations provide day and residential courses for all ages, from young children to retired adults, from schools and communities throughout the UK, reaching many others through our publications and community-based programmes.

The main purpose of the role is to support the Biodiversity Team and their office systems, enabling the delivery of an annual natural history training programme of more than 200 courses including both online and place-base courses for adult learners. This will include: overseeing all customer enquiries via phone and email; producing invoices; enrolling customers into online courses; data entry; taking minutes; compiling reports and supporting other team requests.

The post holder will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, to include English & Maths, or appropriate vocational experience; experience of working within an administrative role; and experience of interacting with customers via phone and email. Key to this appointment will be a flexible approach and willingness to adapt to changes within the team along with a positive contribution to a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. An interest in UK wildlife and conservation would be desirable too!
