Job Summary:

Our client is a respected and established developer of renewable energy technologies including wind, hydro, solar, biomass and anaerobic digestion.  Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Wind Developer/ Planner, with a detailed understanding of GIS software, to manage a growing portfolio of commercial scale wind projects.

You will maintain and expand the existing database and mapping documents, as well as managing the development of small to medium wind schemes from feasibility and pre-planning through to post-consent.  We are keen to hear from individuals with experience in the development of EIA projects and wind development planning applications, with the ability to multi-task and communicate effectively with clients and project stakeholders.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Management of project deliverables from feasibility through to consent, including preparation of reports/ appeal statements and coordination of EIAs
• Maintenance and expansion of the client’s existing GIS database, including provision of detailed maps and drawings relevant to the various developmental stages of planning and grid applications
• Development of mapping tools and constraint layers for the selection of potential wind sites and preparation of wind resource assessment and energy yield reports using industry standard software (Windfarm/ Windpro)
• Excellent verbal communication skills, with ability to liaise effectively with clients, landowners and other stakeholders

Qualifications/Experience:

• Experience in the planning and development of commercial scale wind farms in the UK
• Understanding of the technical, environmental and financial feasibility of wind projects
• Strong report-writing skills, with ability to effectively communicate complex technical  information to clients and other stakeholders
• Experience in the use of GIS software (preferably ArcGIS)
• Full UK Driving Licence
