Wilderness Defender Coordinator

The Wilderness Society (TWS) is an independent environmental advocacy organisation supported by around 30,000 members. The work we do leverages our strong base to build a mass movement for climate action and nature conservation in Australia. Since 1976, we've stood at the forefront of the country's most historic campaigns, including the Franklin River, Fraser Island, Tasmanian Forests, James Price Point in the Kimberley and numerous World Heritage Areas. Today, we're training a new generation of environmental leaders with a sophisticated community organising program, while building support for effective and lasting change through our communications. The Position

This position is responsible for leading, motivating and developing a team of up to 10 in-house face to face fundraisers (Wilderness Defender Campaigners) with an aim to inspire the public to commit ongoing, one-off and non-financial support. Our Wilderness Defender teams play a vital role by engaging the public to inform and share knowledge about campaigns, and to help build the movement to protect Australia's nature and act on climate change.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

• Manage, lead and inspire the fundraising team
• Plan, budget and resource the team
• Interview and train new fundraisers
• Up-skill and develop fundraisers
• Carry out HR and financial compliance activities

About You

A confident communicator, you are someone who is curious about the world and wants to change it for the better. You are an experienced fundraiser, a natural leader and you are interested in a challenging and rewarding role.
