Description

Looking to get some quality experience delivering environmental education and engaging with
families?

Fancy spending six months working 2 or 3 days a week in a beautiful place, with knowledgeable, experienced people – seeing wonders of nature you’d never normally see?

We have a Volunteer Learning Assistant Internship from April-September/October 2015 at Leighton Moss and Morecambe Bay nature reserve, Lancashire.

We are looking for a capable volunteer to deliver clearly defined sessions to groups of people of all ages and abilities throughout our summer season. You will mainly be delivering to school and college groups but will also have opportunities
to gain experience working with families and adults at weekends and in holiday periods.

Ideally, you will be a recent graduate or just changing careers and need to gain practical experience to give your CV a boost in this competitive arena.

You will be part of a busy team who inspire others about wildlife and help them to learn about the natural world around them. You will also help with the development and creation of educational resources and family activities

Good communication skills and enthusiasm are essential. You will need to have some experience of working with children and an ability to work outside, being on the go all day. You will need to be willing to work some evenings and weekends. Being willing to learn new skills with a resourceful and flexible approach will make you a valuable member of the team.

You’ll get training in delivery, the safe use of all equipment and local species ID, first aid, mentoring, a uniform, expenses and lots of first-hand experience with Europe’s largest conservation charity.
