Volunteer Co-ordinator – Perhentian Community Project, Malaysia
 
Role

As the Volunteer Co-ordinator you will be the main contact between the volunteers and the project.  You will ensure all volunteers are happy and that they achieve what is needed for the project.  You will contact the volunteers before, during and after the programme.  You will also be expected to lead our school clubs so some form of teaching experience is needed. You will be seen as the face of the Community Project and this should be considered at all times. When representing Ecoteer you should display a professional standard whilst remaining open and accessible to the community and other stakeholders in which we operate.
 
Description of ideal candidate
A passionate, friendly and social person who has experience of teaching.  They would have a passion not just for teaching but also for the environment and will want to make a difference to the local Perhentian Community.   They would have experience in organising people and a positive ‘can-do’ attitude.  They would have good command of spoken and written English and experience of living and working with western people.  They would be a happy, people person and someone that people can easily discuss issues with.  They would be a confident swimmer and love living on tropical islands.
