Description

11/08/14 - 15/08/14

This introductory course is aimed at anyone who loves plants and enjoys finding out more about them. A diverse range of mountain, lowland and coastal sites around Snowdonia National Park are easily accessible from Rhyd-y-creuau, and will be explored over the course. This is an excellent way for people to see North Wales as well as learn about some of its special plants and habitats.

The course will cover the sometimes confusing structure of plants and flowers in a clear, simple way, concentrating on those features which aid in their identification. There will be an introduction to using field guides and keys and, on completion of the course, participants will feel much more confident about tackling the identification of previously unseen plants. Excursions will cover a wide range of habitats found in North Wales, from wetland sites on Anglesey to the limestone of the Great Orme.
