Urban botany can be confusing! The rich mixture of natives and non-natives in unusual habitats is quite unlike 'normal' botanising. The course will concentrate on the identification of less familiar non-native plants and explore the recent, rapid changes in urban botany. We will visit sites in and around Greenwich Park.
The exact structure of this course will be highly dependent upon what plants are available; unpredictable events such as street weed cleaning or development of brown field sites can make for a botanical lottery!
By the end of this course participants will have: - Become more familiar with a range of urban non-natives and some of the smaller Fabaceae. - Improved their general botanical identification skills.
