13/04/14-17/04/14
This course is a comprehensive exploration of the natural history and management of trees and woodlands and is suitable for anyone with a strong personal or professional interest in the status of woodlands in the British countryside.
Oliver Rackham shares his encyclopaedic knowledge through a series of illustrated lectures on woodland themes, complemented by field excursions to some of the finest ancient woodlands in Suffolk and Essex, plus a visit to the Suffolk Records Office to look at a variety of secondary sources.
Please note that brisk walking is involved on most days, but also a fair amount of standing and discussing, so you may find that bringing a chair-type walking stick is useful.
