Job Title:        Trainee Recruitment Consultant

Location:        London

Salary:            £20 - £25K (dependent on exp) + generous commission package

Mattinson Partnership is a specialist Transport, Environmental and Civil Engineering recruitment company, bringing together recruitment expertise with hands-on industry experience.

Job purpose:

We are looking to grow our Transport and Civils teams and therefore need to take on an additional Trainee.

Principal Accountabilities 

  • Assist with the provision of temporary staff; responsible for referencing, work eligibility and academic qualification checks.
  • Monitor applications from the company website and other websites.
  • Database management; updating candidate’s details, registering candidates and clients.
  • Prepare c.v’s and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants;
  • Inform candidates about  interviews feedback and prepare letters of appointment;
  • Assist consultants with job searches.
  • Receive and review applications, manage interviews and short-list candidates.
  • Use sales, business development and marketing techniques in order to attract business from client companies
  • Negotiate pay and salary rates and finalise arrangements between client and candidates;
  • Be proactive in developing new business and existing client and candidate relationships.
  • headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates;
  • Offer advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression; reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes.
  • Secure references and all other documentation as directed for each new Temporary worker
  • Advertise vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing adverts using a range of media (e.g. newspapers, websites, magazines);
  • Develop a good understanding of your target clients through meetings, telephone calls, email and market research.
  • Adhere to company processes, especially legal and financial control.
  • You may be required to perform other duties in line with your position as and when required.
