Temporary until March 2012. An exciting opportunity has arisen for three positive, practical and flexible individuals who love working with people to join Nottinghamshire County Council’s busy Ranger team. Based primarily at world famous Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve and Rufford Abbey, one of the country’s leading heritage sites, you will also be expected to work at our other country parks and greenspace sites. You will need a countryside management qualification, a minimum of 12 months relevant experience (minimum 3 years if no relevant qualification) and a skill-base ranging from practical forestry to leading events, helping lost children to supervising volunteers! Full driving licence (category B and BE) required, uniform provided. Because the duties it involves outdoor, physical work the post is unsuitable for persons with mobility restrictions. Rural location means applicants need own transport. Closing date: 21 November.
