Description

The Energy Institute (EI) is the largest global professional body and learned society concerned with energy issues. The EI develops and disseminates knowledge, skills and good practice working to enhance the safety, security and sustainability of energy systems. 

We are looking to provide some additional support to the Technical Team by recruiting a new Technical Officer. The Technical Team develops codes of practice, specifications, and good practice for the energy industry. Key areas of work are within health, safety, asset integrity, the environment, and fuels and fuel handling in the oil and gas, offshore wind and thermal power generation sectors.

The position will primarily assist in co-ordinating and supporting delivery of the G+ Global Offshore Wind Health & Safety Organisation (G+) work programme to improve H&S performance in the offshore wind industry, as well as supporting the activities of EI technical committees in the delivery of the wider technical programme, and editing/preparing technical material for publication. Excellent organisational, administrative, and data analysis skills are essential, as is the ability to communicate well, including with senior representatives within the energy industry, as well as excellent customer/client service skills.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter who demonstrates initiative and can work with a minimum of supervision. A science, or engineering based degree, knowledge of the offshore wind industry and experience of data analysis and presentation would be advantageous but are not essential.
