Description |
The West Midlands has been awarded over £33 million from the Government's Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) to help tackle congestion, reduce carbon emissions and kick start the regional economy.
Centro, working in close partnership with the seven West Midlands councils, is using the money to fund our Smart Network, Smarter Choices project. This involves implementing a wide range of sustainable travel schemes along ten key corridors in the West Midlands - helping people to make smarter and greener travel choices to help cut congestion and improve traffic flows. Not only will this help support our regional economy but it will bring substantial benefits for the environment and people's health. To help bring about this change, we need your help.
In order to deliver the LSTF programme to time and budget, additional capacity is required within Centro's Sustainable Travel Team, as follows:
Sustainable Travel Officer (Business & Employers) Part-time (18.25 hours per week) Fixed-term post until March 2015 £25,406 - £29,719 pro-rata
You will develop, promote and implement sustainable travel projects and travel plans for employers and large trip generators which promote the use of public transport, walking, cycling and car-sharing in order to meet Centro and LSTF targets.
You will be part of a dynamic team helping to deliver the West Midlands Local Sustainable Transport Fund (LSTF) Employer Workstream. This involves engaging effectively with employers and large trip generators and working closely with the LSTF Project Team, LSTF suppliers and Local Authority partners.
You will also support the delivery of the award winning Company TravelWise scheme across the West Midlands, helping local businesses implement effective travel plans, including sustainable travel events and promotions for staff.
Demonstrable knowledge of sustainable travel issues is essential. Experience of delivering Smarter Choices or other related projects that target employers/large trip generators would be a definite advantage. You will be a self starter with excellent communication and partnership working skills.
Previous unsuccessful applicants need not apply.
Please note, a CV alone will not be accepted.
Closing Date: Tuesday 7th May 2013 no later than noon
