Sustainable Scotland Network Coordinator

Salary: £30k - £35k + benefits (DOE)

Location: Stirling

Keep Scotland Beautiful is the independent charity which campaigns, acts and educates on a range of local, national and global environmental issues which affect people’s quality of life. It is committed to making Scotland clean and green, today and tomorrow.

Since 2003 KSB has managed the development of the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN), with support provided by the Scottish Government. SSN is now a well-respected sustainable development initiative working with, and providing support to, professionals in local government and the wider public sector.

KSB provides a dedicated staff team to develop and implement the SSN work plan. The team provides support on climate change and sustainable procurement through the provision of programme development, expert advice, communications, events and training, research and general membership services. The SSN programme is informed by the SSN Steering Group with members drawn from the SSN membership and key partner organisations.

Reporting to, and working closely with, the Sustainability & Climate Change Manager, the SSN Coordinator will develop and coordinate Keep Scotland Beautiful’s work on the SSN. The Coordinator will lead on the management, development and coordination of the SSN Team at KSB and will be a key point of contact for the SSN Steering Group. The SSN Coordinator will also contribute to the development of wider sustainable development and climate change initiatives within the charity.

Applications are sought from candidates who feel that they have the necessary experience, skills and qualifications to undertake this role.  The ideal candidate will have thorough working experience of sustainable development, climate change and sustainable procurement policy and practice.  They will also bring experience and skills to manage, coordinate and develop teams and individuals.  Knowledge and understanding of local authority structures and other public sector organisations is essential together with experience of providing capacity building and support services to large organisations and professionals. A positive and professional approach to teamwork, networking and partnerships is vital.

For an informal discussion about this role please contact George Tarvit, Sustainability & Climate Change Manager on 01786 471333.
