Contract: Fixed term for 1 Year (with the possibility of extension depending on funding)

Location:  Stirling

Keep Scotland Beautiful (KSB) is one of Scotland’s leading environmental charities. We promote action on sustainable development and climate change, sustainable development education and local environmental quality. Funding has been secured from the Scottish Government to develop and run a new project for public sector organisations on low carbon behaviours as part of the Sustainable Scotland Network (SSN).

The new project will provide support to local authorities and public sector organisations on the application of the Scottish Government’s low carbon behaviours framework and the ‘Individual, Social and Material (ISM) Tool’. The project will provide support through national events, printed and online materials, case studies, and training events and workshops. It will also provide facilitated workshops and support to help public sector organisations to develop low carbon behavior action plans.

The Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing a project plan, including the development of project resources, promotion, training events and facilitated workshops, advice and support, direct engagement with public sector organisations, and project monitoring and evaluation.

Applications are sought from candidates who feel that they have the necessary skills, experience and qualifications to undertake this role.  The ideal candidate will have a passion for action on climate change and low carbon behaviours, an understanding of behaviour change methods, excellent facilitation and group-work skills, and well-developed project management and implementation experience. Knowledge and understanding of the roles and responsibilities of public sector organisations is also valuable, as is the ability to work positively with project teams, colleagues and a wide range of project participants and stakeholders.
