Sustainability Manager

£35,000 + excellent benefits

London & Stevenage

At Sodexo, we provide services at 2,300 client sites across the UK and Ireland, including offices, hospitals, schools, defence sites, prisons, sporting events and visitor attractions. While our heritage is in food, today we’re the world leader in quality-of-daily-life solutions. Join us as Sustainability Manager and help us cement our position as a market leader in ethical sustainability as you develop business strategies for our procurement functions.

Sustainability is a key part of our business – in fact, for ten years running, we’ve been named Global Sustainability Industry Leader in our sector by the Dow Jones Sustainability Index. That means you’ll be involved with work that’s both rewarding and high-impact. As Sustainability Manager, we’ll look to you to support joint functions, manage our CSR requirements, respond to tenders from potential clients regarding strategy, and lead our Better Tomorrow Plan commitments. Working closely with category buyers, you’ll help us develop sustainable sourcing solutions and make sure that our local suppliers meet current regulations. On top of that, you’ll also manage various internal and external audits.

As Sustainability Manager, you’ll have a genuine passion for driving innovation and change – our sustainability programme is constantly evolving, so it’s essential that you’re flexible and can adapt. We’re looking for someone with excellent analytical and auditing skills, sound knowledge of procurement, and a good understanding of the food industry and supply chain. A second language, such as French, will be a big plus, as will a communications background. A good speaker and presenter, you’ll have no problems setting strategies. And of course, you’ll also need great stakeholder-management, influencing and negotiation skills. In return, we’ll offer you a fantastic package that includes a 15% annual bonus, 23 days’ leave, pension scheme, and flexible benefits worth £1,300.

From catering and cleaning to security, laboratory and maintenance services, we’re experts at delivering tailored multi-service solutions that enable people to focus on their core business. Supporting clients across every sector imaginable to be the best they can be, we’ll apply that very same passion to your development too.
