Waterman is a leading engineering and environmental consultancy providing multi-disciplinary services to the property, infrastructure, energy and environmental markets around the world.  Due to an increasing and diverse workload an opportunity has arisen for a sustainability consultant to join Waterman’s Energy, Environment and Design team. Based in London, the successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a wide variety of exciting projects in the urban regeneration, education, healthcare, property, waste, and energy sectors.  The candidate should have a good level of sustainability experience but also understand the dynamic and ever changing demands of delivering sustainable solutions, and above all have the ability to recognise the importance of providing cost effective solutions to meet our clients' challenges.

 Core responsibilities of the position include:

·         Be able to work fairly autonomously with excellent communication skills (including liaison with clients and design teams and technical report writing) but also as part of a team assisting with the preparation of reports, fee proposals, pitches and presentations;

·         Deliver BREEAM, Code for Sustainable Homes, and Sustainability Assessments and, if required, support our international client’s needs in relation to Green Star, Estidama and LEED Assessments;

·         Contribute to various initiatives including the development of new services and products to provide a holistic approach to sustainability in the built and natural environment;

·         Be willing to be involved and add value to other integrated  services including waste management, energy and carbon management, corporate social responsibility, environmental impact assessment, environmental management and due diligence.

Candidates for this role will be degree qualified with a track record in consultancy for at least two to three years.  The candidate we are seeking should ideally have:

·         A degree (with appropriate professional membership preferred) together with a further relevant post graduate qualification;

·         Good technical knowledge of sustainability in the built and natural environment. Knowledge and skills within the fields of energy, waste, and carbon management would be an advantage;

·         Previous experience working for an environmental or engineering consultancy with a variety clients including architects, contractors, developers, and house builders;

·         BRE Registered Code for Sustainable Homes Assessor and/or BREEAM Assessor, with experience of completing assessments for a wide variety of building types (eg Healthcare, Education, Bespoke, Commercial, Multi Residential, International) Experience in all areas not essential as training and project experience will be provided;

·         Excellent communication skills both oral and written;

·         Positive and proactive approach;

·         The ability to work as part of a team delivering integrated services;

·         Hold a full UK Driving Licence.
