This one-day course will allow participants to build on knowledge gained at other courses (prior knowledge is assumed), and will provide an understanding of bridge structures and the techniques needed to survey them effectively. The course will start with theoretical classroom session/ workshops and finish with a visit to the local bridge(s). Course content includes: bridge construction, equipment needed to survey bridges effectively, use of bridges by bats, identification of potential roost sites, mitigation and pitfalls, practical exercise at bridges(s).
